Race Information:
Race will commence from Moffat Beach at 1.30pm sharp. Registration will be at O'Connors Beack Park - Mooloolaba from 9am-11am.
Briefing 15 mins prior to start st Moffat Beach.
The course will be approximately 16kms long from Moffats to inside the Mooloolaba Marina straight to waters front of O'Connors Beack Park (next to The Wharf tavern Moooloolaba) to cross on water finish line.
Race date is 30th October 2010.
King of the coast is now proud to be a part of the Australian Racing Series.
The AORS is a national series incorporating 10 ocean racing events. The series will travel around the country to Australia's most popular beaches showcasing men and women competing in a variety of categories in the only ocean racing series of its kind.This time of start may differ depending upon wind conditions and starting point. Information we will endeavour to deliver by text and email so please add mobile and emails numbers to registration and/or check website for updates.
****Updated information: please note that 'the Twist' Teams and Double race has been cancelled from the AORS event program this season so there will be no Double Championships. So too has the Lion Island Challenge.

POINTS AND SERIES CHAMPIONS
Updated info: Competitors will take their best 6 results from 10 races which will decide the national champion in the various categories as outlined below.
All events will be awarded equal points with the exception of the Doctor which will be awarded double points.
The Finn Kayaks Coastal Challenge is a teams event and will have points awarded towards the AORS series points.

  • Category Descriptions
    Under 20 ft Any craft under 20ft for example Fenn XT, Epic Sport, all Spec Ski's, Plastics
    Under 20 Must be 20 or under as of the first AORS event of the series
    Over 40 Must be 40 or over as of the first AORS event of the series
    Over 50 Must be 50 or over as of the first AORS event of the series

    Please note that some events may not have all categories.
    Some events may feature additional categories and will not be included in the AORS point score.
    Competitors must wear a leg rope attaching themselves to their craft and it is compulsory to attach a lifevest to your craft or self. It is recommended thats paddlers consider attaching a hand held flare for your safety.
    Leg ropes are available for sale through either Oceanpaddler.com, Paddleshop 0424 929 667 Kawana, Qld www.paddleshop.com.au or should you need to purchase one prior to the race commencing we will have some at the race registration for purchase.
